Asia Africa journey 2015

IMG_0185-001 IMG_1055After four years since the last visit to our friends, the children and projects in Myanmar and three to four years for those in India, we believe it is time to go back this fall. In addition, since flying back from India to Amsterdam via Uganda is relatively easy, we see this as the best opportunity to revisit friends and assess future ministry engagements for the coming years with two ministries based in Uganda and the D.R. Congo that we have been asked to join. It has been two years since Johan was there, and we still carry them on our hearts. In the fall Alette will have a long break from her studies, our first year of marriage will be over, and we are looking towards where and how the Lord will continue to engage us for the Kingdom for years to come. This is the time for us to go! We hope you will support us in prayer and finances as we set out on this three-month long journey.

October – Myanmar

After arrival in (1) Yangon on October 15 we expect to spend most time in (2) Taungoo with David Lawma and the children we have been supporting. There are many open doors in Myanmar, including for places of prayer, church planting and caring for the poor and those without families.

November – India

Via (3) Chennai and (4) Kavali we travel to (5) Rayada, Odisha, where we spend time with the Jena family and the children that we support. Then we continue to (6) Siliguri where we connect with Erik & Ajano and others who are involved in church planting.

In (7) Kolkata we hope to visit Amod & Rebekah and their children’s home before having a belated honeymoon on the west coast. We then visit a pastor in Mumbai and fly to Uganda on December 7.

December – Uganda

We expect to spend the most  time with Will and Etta and the house of prayer of Send56 in (10) Tororo, with possible trips elsewhere (eg (11)). We hope to meet many of their missionaries, reconnect, and pray and strategize for the future.

January 2016 – DRC

Early January we hope to arrive in (12) Goma, DRC, with Andrew & Amethyst and their friends of Rally International. It is a time to connect, pray and strategize. We will be training a team to start a house of prayer in Congo and may visit some projects a few hours away (13).
